I'll take the time to make things right Can't afford to lose No you can't crack my spirit with a case of the blues Though foolish am I I may be stubborn at times Can't afford to cry I just tell myself that my well has up and gone dry Well, maybe I'm not the one that I thought I had to be It's a matter of time Before you make up your mind Yeah, it makes no difference How you do it Ah, don't you let them be the ones To bring you down Tell me now how in the hell Are you ever gonna love somebody else When you can't even love yourself I cut it too close To the wire again Yeah my spaceship's going down Just like Major Tom who burned out at both ends I guess he never knew Who he was after all Nobody cares for the truth They'll just sell you some story that's too tall to fall But when they claw at your collar for one lousy dollar Man, how far will you bend I'd recommend You step away from the ledge Yeah, it makes no difference How you do it Don't you let them be the ones To bring you down Tell me now how in the hell Are you ever gonna love somebody else When you can't even love yourself Some fools get lucky Some just bite the dust Oh, I think it's funny That there ain't much that you can trust But you have to do what you must Oh, if you ever wanna make it out You'd better learn to swim You can outrun all your problems But there's no guarantee that you'll ever win Just keep your chin up and grin 'Cause tomorrow's got no time for sorrows, my friend Take care of your garden Don't forget where you've been Yeah, it makes no difference How you do it Ah, don't you let them be the ones To bring you down Tell me now how in the hell Are you ever gonna love somebody else When you can't even love yourself Hmmm, no you can't even love yourself

Old Friend 04:36
Hello old friend, you've changed your looks So many times to try to find yourself Just like a line out of a book I've read a thousand times but never understood We're still the same in many ways You lost your voice there for a little while Let's have a toast to the good old days Before we knew that we thought we knew was just a lie Scream until you get your holler back You'll scream until you get your holler back Scream until you get your holler back And all the time that you've spent You just watch it roll around the bend Yeah, all the time that you've spent You just watch it roll around the bend Id' love to know what's on your mind I get the feeling that you're just lookin' for a friend Did the concrete jungle wear you down You saw yourself become the villain in the end We're still the same in many ways You had to climb your way out of the underground Let's have a toast to the good old days Before we figured that what we'd lost would soon be found You'll scream until you get your holler back You'll scream until you get your holler back, yeah Scream until you get your holler back And all the time that you've spent You just watch it roll around the bend Yeah, all the time that you've spent You just watch it roll around the bend And so, old friend, you're moving on To chase some shadows down the yellow brick road Well another day is just another dawn Another way to work it out and save your soul We'll stay the same in many ways Runnin' in circles, 'till we find that door Here's my goodbye to the good old days We've got some work to do before it starts to pour

I'm on the outside looking in I see the hand that I was dealt All the mistakes that I have made The little things that can't be helped How many chances do you get Before you're all out of cards You'd better pray you don't forget You'd better wear it like a scar Yeah, and when you can't move on And your groove's all wrong Well, if the wind's just too strong You've got to sing a little song Yeah and it won't take long before it's gone Just like a dream that you forget One that you were squinting at too hard The game is played, the score is set But it still ain't written in the stars What was the price I had to pay While I was sitting on the shelf I'm coming up on yesterday Here I am all by myself Yes, and when you can't move on And your groove's all wrong Well, if the wind's just too strong You've got to sing a little song Yeah and it won't take long before it's gone What was the price I had to pay While I was sitting on the shelf, yeah I'm coming up on yesterday But I'm no longer by myself

about

These songs were all written in 2018 on my Simon & Patrick acoustic guitar:

- "Old Friend" and "Outside Looking In" were conceived of in the comfort of my bedroom in Saint-Henri
- "It Makes No Difference" was written and completed overnight at Pilou's Studio Le Nid with Sam Harvey sleeping upstairs, during a recording session

The songs were brought in to Sam Harvey's Big Blue Studio in the spring of 2019, where they were recorded over the course of 2 days.

I'd like to thank my mother, father and sister for believing in me since I started making music, Kayla Brooke for supporting me always, Sam Harvey for being my recording mentor and good friend, Pilou for letting us use his studio when we were starting this journey out a couple years ago, Erik Fines, Walid Moon and Kevin Moquin for being an amazing band and relentless friends.

And a huge thank you to Bar de Courcelle and the inspiration it gave me to keep going years ago, what with its incredible community of talented musicians and the best damn people I could ever meet.
